Use mathematical structure to reduce the search space.

The MathWorks coding inventory is a good fit for reasoning about constraints, equivalence classes, and cumulative sums. Work through those ideas in a supported language you know well.     Use shifted-string grouping to find a canonical signature. Equivalent strings should receive the same signature even when letters wrap around the alphabet.
