OfferStripe SWE Internship Shipping, BitFont, and Balance Integration Offer
Role: Software Engineering Intern
Result: Offer
Timeline: Phone screen in early October, onsite on October 24, manager interview on November 1, and offer on November 12, 2024. The OA date was not shared.
Team screen
The screen used three shipping-cost tasks: fixed per-unit prices, marginal quantity tiers, then a mix of per-unit and fixed bracket charges. A null upper bound meant the final tier had no maximum. The candidate used Python dictionaries and defined their own input types.
Onsite coding
The BitFont round had three parts:
- Render a Character from a binary glyph using dots and stars.
- Render a Kerned Pair.
- Find Maximum Non-Overlapping Kerning without overlapping ink.
Integration
The candidate parsed a balance-summary JSON file, then aggregated several files. A later part combined reconciliation data and posted the result with the correct authentication and headers.
Practice: HTTP Balance Summary and Reconciliation.
The manager asked about teamwork, feedback, deadlines, quick decisions, career priorities, and why Stripe. The candidate received an offer.
