Stripe SWE Internship Invoice Matching, Email Scheduling, and Bikemap Loop

Role: Software Engineering Intern
Result: Offer, with San Francisco placement
Timeline: OA on December 1, team screen on December 8, onsite on December 16, and manager interview on December 29, 2025. The offer call came after January 10, 2026.

Team screen

The screen used Invoice / Payment Reconciliation.

1. Match a payment by invoice ID.
2. If the ID is missing, match the earliest invoice with the same amount.
3. Allow an amount tolerance while still choosing the earliest matching invoice.

The candidate finished all three parts. The detailed rules came from an older note they had saved, so the missing serialization and reuse rules should not be guessed.

Onsite

The programming round used Email Subscription Scheduler. The candidate completed two of three parts.

The integration round used Bikemap Route and JSON Integration. They completed three of five parts. Long documentation and examples that did not line up cleanly with the needed code slowed them down.

Manager interview

Topics included projects, teamwork, disagreements, deadlines, mistakes, unfinished work, quick decisions, career priorities, and why Stripe.

The candidate received an offer after a long wait. Their guesses about office capacity and candidate ranking were personal observations, not confirmed company policy.
