The phone screen used a toy database.

1. Select a whole record using one key.
2. Extend the selection to several ordered keys.

The candidate used Python and kept adding tests until the interviewer was satisfied. They received another interview invitation about 20 minutes later.

The source did not preserve the multiple-key return rules, missing-key behavior, ties, or bounds. An earlier invoice OA was passed, but its exact task was not shared.
