Stripe Internship Six-Part Database Phone Screen

Role: Software Engineering Intern
Result: Passed the phone screen
Timing: Interview on September 26 and pass notice on September 28, 2018.

The screen had six connected asks:

1. Return the whole record with the minimum value for one key.
2. Choose minimum or maximum based on a direction.
3. Implement the first function by calling the directional helper.
4. Implement directional selection using a comparator.
5. Compare records by an ordered matrix of keys and directions.
6. Rebuild directional selection using that ordering helper.

The interviewer ran tests after each step. Comparator plus collection sorting was allowed. The final multicolumn return behavior, ties, empty input, and bounds were not fully shared.
