Scale AI New Grad SWE OA: Running Through Walls

This OA had one problem and a 50-minute time limit.

Starting at position zero, you could move one step left or right. A normal step cost one unit of energy. Crossing a wall cost energy based on the wall’s thickness, and crossing the same wall again cost energy again. The goal was to cross as many different walls as possible without going over the energy limit.

They said a brute-force solution passed and also mentioned prefix sums as another approach. They passed the OA.
