In processGoogle Early Career VO: Meeting Rooms II and Self-Describing Pi Indices
Role: Software Engineer, New Grad / Early Career
Result: Passed the virtual onsite
Report time: January 2026
The candidate reported two coding questions.
Coding 1: Meeting Rooms II
Given meeting intervals, return the minimum number of rooms needed so that every meeting can run without overlap.
Practice: Minimum Number of Chairs / Meeting Rooms II
Coding 2: self-describing positions in Pi
Pi is supplied as a digit string, such as [removed]. Return every one-based index i whose decimal digits match the digits of Pi beginning at that position.
For a multi-digit index such as 456, the match requires:
pi[454] == '4'pi[455] == '5'pi[456] == '6'
Those zero-based accesses correspond to the one-based position beginning at 455 in the digit string.
Practice: Self-Describing Indices in Pi Digits
